thinking is that gov't is bad, against us, and less gov't is better. This Reagan's worst legacy. That thinking strengthens those who would divide us into two classes the rich and the workers. (Again, if you doubt that, look at centralization of wealth since his philosophy came into vogue). Of all the entities out there: our gov't, small businesses, individuals, corporations, foreign people and their governments, etc., there is only one that is looking out for you and me. It's the one that defends us from invaders, builds highways, keeps the powerful from taking undue advantage of the weak, helps states survive financially, provides disaster relief, makes sure our food, drugs and air are safe for us. It's our very own government. To simply say gov't is bad is not enough. If it is not right, then we need to change it. There is no doubt it's a mess, but to act like "it" is the problem is to ignore that "it" is us. .... And that sheltered money is not in cigar boxes. It's in offshore accounts, waiting for the next gov't-granted tax holiday, so they can bring it in again.
